I didn't sleep all night before my flight out - had some loose ends to wrap up with a lot of things, and unfortunately I wasn't able to finish them all.

Foggy Morning

Our first stop at the Edmonton International Airport was pleasant. The check-in assisstants were very helpful despite our head-aching quantity of luggage. Because of their efficiency, we didn't hold too many people up. However, things were a little different in Yellowknife. We were delayed not once, not twice, not even thrice, but four times! At least this gave us some time to explore the city (Malaya's friend gave us a tour).

We learned that the delays to Rankin Inlet and Iqaluit were due to mechanical problems. When we eventually boarded (Canadian North actually cancelled the stop in Rankin, which was too bad) , I realized we were on a combi! A combi is a type of plane that carries both passengers and cargo on its upper deck. I've seen them before in a game called "Pocket Planes", but I didn't realize they were actually used very often!

Iqaluit's airport looks like a gigantic Pelican case. We were very fortunate to be allowed to keep our heavy luggage in a back room there due to our late arrival (Shoutout to Max!). We stayed at Malaya's aunt's house, which has a beautiful view of the Frobisher Bay and the people who were snowmobiling on it!

Our flight to Pang was delayed as well, and we found out that the plane was actually going to fly over Pang, "attempt to land" in Qikiqtarjuaq, then come back to Pang. We did land in Qik, which is probably the furthest North I'll be for a few years - it's north of the Arctic Circle! It was also very blinding, and rewrote my dictionary's entry on "bathing in sunlight".
